The JAAMIR Book Reading Competition builds a habit of reading English books among young people. Each session, participants read one selected book and present a short critical analysis of it online. See the previous winners and previous judges.

Who can take part: anyone aged 12 or over who lives in Bangladesh, of any nationality. Students, graduates and working readers are all welcome. Taking part is free.
The book: JAAMIR selects one English book for each session. Participants get the book themselves from a bookshop, library or online store. JAAMIR does not provide copies.
Prizes: the three best presenters receive books by courier, and every presenter receives an e-certificate. Sponsor a session.

How to join a session
- Register for a free JAAMIR account. You will be asked for a Google Drive link to a photo of your ID (NID, institutional ID or birth certificate) so the organiser can check it. If you registered before, just log in.
- The organiser reviews new accounts. Once yours is approved, you can see the JAAMIR WhatsApp group link when you log in to the website.
- Open the Reading Board and choose Yes, I will present for the current session before the sign-up deadline. Places are limited.
- The organiser confirms the list. Confirmed participants get the Google Meet link and can add the session to Google Calendar.

The presentation
- On the day, each confirmed participant presents a 4–5 minute critical analysis of the book on Google Meet. You can use any tools to make it engaging: objects, slides or pictures.
- You will hear a warning at 4:30 minutes.
- The judge may ask a follow-up question after each presentation.
- If you do not have a reliable internet connection, you can send a video recording through Google Drive before the session, following the same rules.
Judges
Scholars from Bangladesh and abroad are invited to assess the presentations. There may be one judge or more. The judges choose the three best presenters.
